Almost a year following the widely acclaimed release of the inaugural MagicDeathEye plugin, comes the introduction of its successor by Ian Sefchick: MagicDeathEyeStereo. This tube compressor, complete with an integrated EQ circuit, has been meticulously crafted to cater to all your mastering prerequisites. Building upon the extensive knowledge gained from the initial version, this new rendition presents an authentic replication of a remarkable piece of audio hardware.
While sharing a distinct sonic imprint, each product boasts specialized capabilities; the 'mono' version (though not technically monophonic in plugin form) focuses on individual tracks, while its stereo counterpart excels in unifying the entire mix. Sporting a compression curve that is even smoother than before, along with an array of enhancements, this stereo version guarantees a refined finalization of your mix.
The stereo compressor comprises two mono compressor circuits enhanced with supplementary features tailored for mastering and buss compression applications. Notably, this new edition incorporates an EQ section featuring two boost-only bands, with two selectable frequencies for each band. The EQ is seamlessly integrated into the Variable Mu tube gain structure, residing within the compression process rather than prior or subsequent to it. Crafted with inductor-based wide curves to bestow that extra 'je ne sais quoi' to your program material. Moreover, a two-frequency low-cut option is provided to rein in unruly bass frequencies. With boost options ranging from 5dB to 3dB and disseminated across five steps, meticulous attention has been dedicated to refining the EQ circuit during daily mastering sessions and weekend fine-tuning of components. The resulting sound is nothing short of magnificent!
